First, we covered how you can use Google Trends for your marketing strategies on our latest blog. Google Trends is a Google tool to help users analyze search query trends over time.

To use the tool, just type in a topic to see results from the entire world, one country, or even the state you’re working in. You can also change the timeframe for comparisons. It is a great tool to use when looking for information specific to Google Shopping, YouTube, image searches, or specific topics. So, how should you use it for marketing? We recommend utilizing the tool for the following:

  • Business ideas
  • Seasonal marketing & content creation
  • What products/services are trending & on the downwards trend
  • Topic clustering
  • Knowing what topics/news is trending

Generally, it’s a great tool for market research and to help with content and business ideas. It’s also the perfect tool to stay on top of trends, so you know how to steer your content and perfect your SEO.

Speaking of SEO, the ladies over at Marketing Mix talked about local SEO updates you should consider making right now. If you want to make sure potential customers find your business when searching for your type of service, then local SEO needs to be on your radar.

First, it’s important to have and update your Google My Business account consistently. The minute anything changes with your business, such as hours, servicing areas, or contact information, update it on GMB. This means keeping your Google review management strategy updated, as well.

Also, remember to keep your photos updated on GMB because it increases engagement and showcases your brand. It’s also proven that those with more photos get search engine priority. Additionally, it’s a good idea to set up Google Q&A to address any recent business changes and prevent the spread of misinformation.

Engaging on social media and adding posts on GMB can also help your SEO because Google sees it as keeping consumers updated with the latest about your business. You can share on Google Posts things like “What’s New,” “Events,” and “Offers.”

Lastly, when it comes to your website, make sure you keep your local and non-branded keywords and content updated. These should change as your business, products, and time of the year change. Don’t forget to add location pages to your website, too.
