Local Business Coach Helps Maximize Revenue
Financial advisors are part of a unique group of people who bet on themselves in their professional careers. Since much of their paychecks are generally dependent on how many clients they have and how great their investment returns are, an advisor must have a unique set of skills in order to make the greatest amount of money.
While it takes a great deal of training and practice to become an expert on the financial side of their job, an advisor can make an instant impact to their own financial wellbeing by becoming more adept salespeople and adding more clients to their book of business.
There are many ways to improve in sales, but working with an experienced business professional is sure to help, and this is where the services of a business coach can come in for advisors.
Many people assume business coaches only work with large corporations, but as a coach who works with clients in Massachusetts and New Hampshire I have worked with businesses and individuals of different industries and sizes over the years. While I can offer many services for financial advisors, helping them hone their sales skills is often one of the more helpful roles I can take in their business development.
While I would never suggest to allow your financial training and the care of your clients’ accounts to take a back seat, setting aside some time to add to your client list and hone your sales skills can give you a real advantage over other advisors in the area, and I can help ensure you are adding as many new clients as possible.
My background has a tremendous amount of sales experience, and I am happy to share these skills with members of the business world in my community. When I work with clients, the first thing I do is take stock of their goals and where they stand now. With advisors, we discuss how many clients they would like to have and then make a plan to help them get there.
Sales training is unique because it can be built to meet the needs of the client, but I generally cover a few key points in any session. First, you must master the art of prospecting. No one likes to make cold calls, send emails to people they don’t know or attend events where they might be in a room full of strangers, but when you master prospecting these activities can open the door to new clients.
Following up is also an important skill to master, so we discuss how often to follow up and what messaging to use to give the best chance of continuing the conversation. Finally, I always discuss how, when and how often to close with potential clients. You will never earn their business if you don’t ask, so we cover how to ask and which methods are most likely to earn a “yes.”
