Project: Solar Window Film Installation

DTZ and CBRE, commercial property managers in Fairfax, VA recently contacted us. They were searching for a window film company that could install window film in their 74′ atrium. In order to install their new reflective solar window film we had to first remove the existing film. We were very excited to start on this project, here are the results!
The picture above shows the exterior of the building. As you can tell, from the outside the tint does not appear too dark but does provide a nice reflective look. This provides privacy, heat reduction and UV reflection. The images below show the window film installation being done. The atrium lift you see in the pictures was necessary to complete the window film project, it could reach up to 89 feet!
The window film chosen for the project was the Sun Tek SymphonyDS 25 which is a very popular dual-reflective window film option. This reflective window film is great for commercial use but can also be used in residential projects as well. It provides UV and heat reduction which can help reduce glare, lower utility costs and make the environment more comfortable. From the interior the view is not distorted due to the low reflectivity inside. This film was perfect for what the client desired and they were very pleased with the results.
In order to complete the window film installation we had to first remove the existing dated, dyed window film. After removing the film and restoring the glass ti it’s original condition, we carefully installed each piece of film to the manufacturer’s specifications. Lastly, our client got to enjoy the benefits of their brand new reflective solar film. The quick dry time minimized film curing to quickly achieve optical clarity and perfection.
