Recently, Shubin + Donaldson of Santa Monica, California reached out to us to help with the customizing of their windows and building. They wanted to change the look of their entire building, and knew this was a challenge best left to the experts. We appreciated their end goals, and after a consultation with the architect, we had our plan underway! What You Are Looking At In the images throughout the article, you can see the ongoing package for our client. Through careful design, fabrication, and installation, we were able to achieve the goals they had set! What They Had The client was looking for a complete transformation for the exterior of their establishment to give an updated and more appealing look. In addition, they were in need of window film installation to reduce the solar heat coming into the building, and to coincide with the aesthetic of the new exterior. The cooling costs of the building were excessive, and this window film would need to combat that issue, as well! What We Gave Them Building Wraps: In order to achieve the results that our client was looking for, we used vinyl building wraps for the building makeover. Using this type of tool is called exterior refinishing. Exterior refinishing is often done to update the look of an old building, or when buyers wish to sell. In this project, different colored vinyl wraps were applied to the spandrel glass in specific patterns to achieve their specific design. Window Films: The next part of the project involved the installation of a high quality window film. This film increases the efficiency of the glass, and provides UV ray rejection, reduced TSER, and glare reduction. Our customer opted for a custom blue film that went with the look of the building, and aided in their overall window film needs.
