What Shotgun Classes Do We Offer For Beginners?

Some tactical ranges have limited options for beginners, but we have several courses for those just starting with their shotgun use. Every person who teaches a class is NRA-certified or has extensive experience in the military or law enforcement. We offer professional instruction and supervision every step of the way as you learn.

Let’s talk more about the shotgun classes we offer for beginners. Our professionals have all the qualifications to provide you with the skills and safety abilities necessary to operate a shotgun. The more you know about using the firearm, the more confident you will be when using your weapon for the first time on the range.

Introduction To Shotgun

The most basic course is Introduction to Shotgun, offering everything a beginner needs to know before touching a firearm. Individuals will go over universal safety rules, types of shotguns, ammunition, safe storage, and function. It’s a four-hour course and requires absolutely no prerequisites from attendees.

Individuals in this introductory class must bring a personal or rental shotgun, eye and ear protection, and ammunition approved for the range. The course includes three hours of instruction time, along with an hour of shooting time.

Basic Shotgun

Once you pass Introduction to Shotgun, it’s time to move into the Basic Shotgun course. It’s the second progression and focuses more on the basic marksmanship involved in using the firearm. The goal at the end of this course is to shoot single shells at various ranges while holding onto control and accuracy.

You need to pass Introduction to Shotgun before taking this class or receive an instructor pardon to take the course. It’s an excellent step if you want to learn more about handling a shotgun.

Intermediate Shotgun

Next up is Intermediate Shotgun, building even further on the skills learned in the previous two classes. It will teach shooters to take multiple shots while holding to accuracy and control. You need to pass the previous courses or receive a pardon from an instructor to take it.

If you want to expand on skills for defense, competition, or sport, this course is excellent. It requires more skill and confidence, plus offers excellent instruction from our certified professionals.

Private Lesson

Finally, we offer a private lesson option for those who would prefer to learn one-on-one with an instructor. You get personal time on the range without the distractions of other students.
