Tempe, AZ – Family & Youth Classes Now Available at C2 Tactical Gun Range

Coming to the gun range doesn’t have to be a solo affair! Many of our members and guests make it a family outing. We love seeing all the family units joining our C2 family. That’s why we make it easy to find classes to help educate your family, no matter the age, on gun safety and handling.

We offer family & youth firearm training classes that are specifically catered for families to do something fun and educational together. In our classes not only do the youth learn the fundamental skills to be on the range, but parents learn the best ways to make sure their kids stay safe. We arm our students with this knowledge and make sure they get to practice it in our controlled range environment too.

It can be hard to find the right class that meets your needs and learning goals. To help ease this process, let us tell you about each of our classes and the goals and skills they teach you and your kids.

Family Firearm Safety

This is the very first class that we offer to families. It is a completely instructional classroom session that teaches the absolute basics of safe gun handling to youth. It parallels the structure and learning goals of our introduction to firearm classes but adds in the younger age factor.

In this class, students are taught the rules of safe storage and handling of firearms, including when in a home. Youth are taught how to navigate situations like finding a firearm in someone else’s home. And as a family we discuss your individual needs regarding firearm safety and knowledge for your kids.

Youth Introduction to Firearms

The second class in our youth & family series is the youth introduction to firearms. This is the first time that youth will have access to real firearms to practice everything they learn in the basics class. This class was designed for kids ages 6+ who have zero shooting experience, but have parents who know their way around a firearm.

Kids in this class will get classroom instruction and live-fire practice on the range to understand the basic techniques of shooting a .22 rifle. Parents will be taught and coached on the best ways to make the most of family range time and keep everyone safe. They will be able to practice these skills during the live-fire portion as well. Each child must have a parent with them while taking this class.

Refuse to be a Victim

While firearm knowledge and safety are very important, especially in homes with firearms, it is even more important for kids to understand how to avoid becoming victims. Our final class in the family & youth series is Refuse to be a Victim and is exclusively focused on crime prevention for families and youth.

This class is individually catered to the students within it. This means that it might vary in length depending on the needs of the families attending. But there are so many valuable skills that you and your family will learn such as cyber safety, carjack avoidance, corrective preparedness measures, and more. Students in this class will leave with knowledge on how to protect themselves and prevent themselves from needing to use combative self-defense.
