Polymetal, sometimes referred to as dibond, is a material where options abound. As a sign medium, it is durable enough for outside installations and rigid enough to span distances without bending, but is much lighter than its metal counterparts. The first is Riverview Chiropractic. Their location has two large porch columns on either side of the entrance. There was also an existing soffit board spanning the space, connecting the columns at the top. This was a perfect place for their logo sign. Together the sign was designed and the choice of polymetal was made for the base material. The board was wrapped with the polymetal that displays, beautifully, the multi colored logo in pastel colors, alongside the title name in large letters. This sophisticated but durable sign continues the professional appearance of this stately location. It also significantly helps define the outdoor entrance and allows all passersby to read and identify this business easily.
The second business sign was for the Plumbers and Pipefitters. Their location was in a more industrial area, and the building was set back farther from the road. They also chose a long rectangular polymetal sign for their building front, but more for its practicality. This sign had to be rather long, in order to not only accommodate their long name and patriotic emblem, but to do so while allowing the letters to be large enough to be read clearly from a distance. Since the sign is long, the fact that the material is lightweight made it possible to be installed across the soffit of the metal building. The white background and high contrast black letters enhanced its visibility.
Smaller signs out of polymetal can be seen on many exterior building walls at many business to perform many duties. They are often warning signs, directional signs, signs with arrows and symbols, and even additional logo signs. Riverview Chiropractic had a smaller version of their entrance sign placed on their side building wall that faces a side street for additional identification.
