One example of repurposing happened recently with a Premier Signs of Tampa client. A chiropractor in Brandon, Florida was moving to a new location but had a perfectly good exterior business wall sign and wanted to reuse it. They contacted Premier Signs of Tampa about taking their channel letter sign with them, and together they made it happen.
Another client, Frances Arbor, a residential subdivision, had a monument sign that the needed to replaced. Originally they came to Premier Signs with a request that included redesigning the logo for the replacement sign. In the end, a new design was not in the cards, so a newly routed recreation of the existing sign was made. The old, worn monument sign was taken down and the new one installed. Like the previous sign, their new sign was made out of sign foam. It was routed to give the large tree image as well as the Frances Arbor name, a dimensional look. Finishing out the monument sign, sections including the double routed border, were painted in gold to. The gold is a beautiful contrast to the dark bronze background. Installation placement was to be exactly where the previous one was, on the brick monument wall, so the new sign was attached to the metal sign base in the exact spot.
Not all sign updates or replacements need be expensive. Depending on the previous sign material and new sign material choice, replacing an old sign might be easy and inexpensive. The solution might only require removing the old peeling vinyl, cleaning the surface, and placing a new vinyl overlay in its place. Premier Signs had two recent clients where their exterior business sign solutions were just that. One was a new business in Tampa, We Got Soccer. They were moving into a previously occupied building where the entire store front is made up of windows. The previous tenant covered the windows with multiple vinyl signs. Valuing the windows as prime marketing vehicles, We Got Soccer put removing those and utilizing the windows as a priority. To get marketing prior to opening, Premier Signs designed and created a bigger than life soccer ball image out of white vinyl and installed it on the front windows, right away. The soccer ball was precision cut vinyl depicting a true skeletal image, floor to ceiling on the newly cleared windows. The cutout image allows light and visibility through the front windows, but draws interest and attention from passersby. Many Hillsborough County schools are among Premier Signs clients, and one of the high schools is our second example. Freedom high school had one project that involved replacing damaged exterior soffit signs. The soffit sign placement helps to identify the function of each building with signs that stretched above and across the entrances. The old vinyl signs had been affixed to metal soffits, so the old ones were removed and the surface cleaned and prepared for the new signs. Using the latest technology, digitally printed vinyl, new signs replaced the old and instantly refreshed each entrance.
