Polk and Hillsborough Co., FL Schools Custom Interior Signs

Premier Signs of Tampa has enjoyed a great relationship with area schools for a long time. They have met their many various needs, and you probably have seen many such signs on the exterior walls, fences, and driveway entrances. But you would probably be surprised how many different signs are on their interiors and the many needs they meet. The signage needs are as varied as the schools themselves. Whether a private, public, charter, or alternative school, they all need signs to instruct, direct, and inspire, as well as honoring past and present students and staff.
One of the largest areas of a school is the gymnasium. It is therefore, the perfect venue for displaying many signs. Indoor signs on the walls, the floors, and even from the rafters are colorful expressions of school pride. Area high schools like King, Wharton, and Alonso have beautiful examples of sportsmanship and school pride. The King Lions have multiple large red, white and blue vinyl banners that hang inset in their white brick gym walls. Wharton Wildcats have bold color logos on their athletic records and sports awards banners that dominate their gymnasium walls. Some of which, like their track awards, also have full color pictures of the state champion athletes on beautiful fabric banners. Alonso High has their swimming records, including names and records, each on a blue polymetal material that can be changed out when an individual record is broken. These “slat” signs are all part of a larger sign in their blue, gold and white school colors honoring past, present and future swimmers. Replacing only a small portion of the record sign is very cost efficient.
Banners don’t always end up in gyms, nor are school awards or records solely based on athleticism. Van Buren Middle School chose banners to indicate which offices and student services were located in a certain area of the school. Strategically hung at a hallway intersection, just outside of the offices, you may be informed that this is the location for academic student records, guidance counseling and the assistant principal, all on a green banner.
Trinity, a private Hillsborough County school, has their own very unique sign. This sign honors present students for their character and their heart. Hanging front and center in their entry hall, the “Heart of the Tornado” sign displays an intricately custom cut tornado along side the award winning students from each year. Future recipient’s names will fill in the blank black acrylic name plates that anticipate future winners. The large base makes it look like a heavier sign than it actually is. A faux wood vinyl layer covers the poly metal. This makes the large sign lightweight and much easier to install.
Schools throughout Hillsborough and Polk County proudly display many unique signs specifically for their departments, like the hand cut polymetal hexagon shaped sign in the driver’s education office at Wharton. It has a digital print Wildcat mascot and hangs on the back wall. A 3D sandblasted replica of the Wharton wildcat logo greets visitors near the front office. Trinity School’s crest, hangs high up on rotunda walls, and is made from vinyl. It is a large round medallion that is part of rotundra signage that includes brushed silver acrylic motivational words. More inspirational words can be found on cafeteria soffit’s at Armwood and Freedom High. These made from precision cut vinyl.  While more acrylic letter signs can be found in multiple classrooms and common areas at both University of South Florida and St. Leo’s University.
Premier Signs of Tampa and these, and many other schools, have collaborated throughout the years to bring an inspirational atmosphere to, and meet their many needs in each educational space.
