Tampa Bay Area- Redress Outdoor Building Signs with Acrylic

BY: Your Name, Your Business

Nice, colorful sign, but what does it say? Beautiful building, but is this the right place? Do you need to update your vision prescription? Or maybe it’s the sign….
Don’t let this happen to your clients or potential customers!
Review your signage, it’s one of the best investments you can make in your company. Each day you take the time to pick out your attire for the day, or that special meeting, because you, like your exterior business signs, represent your company, and you don’t want to send the wrong message. Remember that it is just as important for your building and surrounding property’s outward appearance, including signage, to be reviewed and updated. If your wardrobe was found to be drab or worn, you may be passed right by, just like your potential customers would do to your business if your exterior building signs were in disrepair or illegible.

St. Petersburg, Florida’s Watermark retirement community, “The Fountains”, had an exterior building sign that just wasn’t meeting their needs and needed to be replaced. The location of the sign was high above their entrance walkway, so the previous plaque type sign was hard to read. They enlisted Premier Signs of Tampa to fabricate and install a replacement. The new sign is a high contrast, dark bronze acrylic graphic of their fountain symbol. It makes a beautiful statement and the symbol clearly illustrates their name.
This precision cut design was installed on the exterior entrance wall by means of a series of studs. The main entrance now has a welcoming sign to greet residents and visitors. The technique of using studs, is often employed for adding dimension to a sign, pulling it off the surface, but in this instance it was for securing each individual section of the design to the wall.

Acrylic is able to be laser-cut, resulting in precise, intricate designs, which is exactly what was needed here. Acrylics are a versatile medium that comes in over 32 standard colors, has PMS color matching ability, and many custom finishes. They come in thicknesses up to 1/2″, adding to a sign’s dimensional look. Dimension can also come as a result of layering acrylics on top of each other. The pieces can be the same color or varied.
Using two or three colors to “build” a logo, like the state of Florida that is a part of Workforce of America’s exterior wall sign, allows the logos to be colored but can also highlight a specific portion. This multi-color technique is used with great success for interior lobby signs, like Enterprise High School, resulting in beautiful indoor signs that are durable too.
While acrylic letters or logos are popular sign types, entire signs can also be made solely of acrylics. Many inserts for monuments, pylon or pole signs, create outdoor building or perimeter property signs. Here are some examples of Premier Sign’s customers throughout the Tampa Bay area employing this capability:

So don’t delay, dress up your exterior business for success. Review your exterior business signs and think about updating, replacing or putting in a quality, high definition sign, the first time.
