Tampa Bay Interior Lobby Walls Talk with Acrylic Signs

Familiar with the saying, “A picture paints a thousand words”?

Let your interior business lobby or reception area start talking. Use acrylic signage on your interior walls to welcome your customers, clients, students or congregation. When Springhill Church wanted to ensure all who entered were welcomed, even when no one was there to personally greet them, they chose a small but effective acrylic sign to perform this task. Etched vinyl with purple vinyl “welcome” was attached to the back of the acrylic base and put in their lobby. A greeting for Temple Terrace, FL. Church, “His Hands”, was a more complex sign option installed inside their entrance. It is a larger wall sign comprised of two sizes of acrylic text along with a cross and two outstretched hands, all made from acrylic. This artistic rendering of their symbol and purpose transforms their indoor lobby space while greeting all who enter.

When you need to add some color, acrylics supply a wide variety of standard colors and finish options to choose from. Pick a selection from a rainbow of colors, or create your own rainbow. The SPCA veterinary clinic in St. Petersburg filled their new reception area with ribbons of colored acrylic. These acrylic bands of color are actually signs with lessons and information, making them not only beautiful, but educational. Anxious “parents” are calmed by giving them something to read, while they wait for their turn.  Walking to a lobby alcove reveals more colorful acrylic strips. Displayed here are the names of the donors for their “Paw it forward” movement.
Acrylic is durable, lightweight, and can be installed virtually anywhere, so it is a perfect medium for these indoor lobby signs. Flush positioning, when head space may be a factor, is easily accomplished since acrylic is a lightweight material that comes in varying depths. Hanging from brackets or a ceiling is also an option.

If a 3D effect is desired it can be produced when acrylics are stacked on top of each other, or by the use of standoffs, that pull your sign away from the wall. Layered acrylic signs are still light in weight but heavy in appearance. This continues to keep wall sign placement, even up high, an option. Trinity School in Tampa has an indoor lobby sign that is a perfect example. Much larger in scale, this award sign is made up of  black acrylic bands accompanied by a custom, precision cut acrylic tornado. All of these components are attached to a dibond sheet wrapped in wood grain vinyl.

Signs can be solely comprised of acrylic, or use acrylic parts, like text or symbols and affix them to alternate mediums. Equally popular is using acrylic as the base and adding other materials. This use  is demonstrated by a Tampa area Beef O’Brady’s restaurant.

Their interior wall highlights many local attractions, like a photo gallery. These prints are attached to acrylic blocks, installed with stand-offs and surround a television. These acrylic “frames” become a gallery for their customers enjoyment. Acrylic signs can help you customize a customer friendly, inviting space to be enjoyed time after time.
