Recently we were asked to design and fabricate some new acrylic signs for DCR Engineering. The office signs need to be re done after some branding change. We were happy to be called back to help them again as a repeat customer.
The sign project included an acrylic reception area sign and an acrylic conference room sign.
The lobby area sign needed to be dimensional letters with proper logo use for size and shape. The acrylic letters were selected to have a brushed aluminum face. The acrylic was thick at 1″ depth. The letters would be stud mounted on the reception area wall. The logo portion of the sign would need to be printed as it had multiple colors and fades. We printed the logo on vinyl material with a protective laminate. The letters were laser cut acrylic so it has a polished edge and exact replication of shape needed. The letter face was a thin layer of brushed aluminum. The grain of the aluminum looks nice against a painted wall.
The logo bar was nearly 6′ long and one half inch thick to create some dimension compared to the wall letters. With the proper lighting a sign like this will really stand out in a reception area.
The other sign needed was a custom conference room sign. The logo would printed on a clear acrylic sheet. The six mounting holes will support the weight of the sign. The acrylic sign is mounted to the wall using brushed aluminum stand-offs. The depth of the stand-offs can vary but generally about one inch is good. The printed logo can actually cast a little shadow on the wall to create more dimension.
The size of the acrylic can vary by the logo needed. The printing method ensures the proper use of the logo brand colors. The sign can be mounted to all kinds of wall types.
If the office were to move and relocate, both the reception area sign and conference room sign can be moved to a new location.
