Electric building signs have changed quite a bit in the last few years. Neon signs have been popular for many recent decades and now LED signs are most frequent. The style of illuminated signs can be very custom. For example, an illuminated building sign can be letters mounted directly on the building or on a raceway.

When designing the electric sign, the proper amount of LED lights make the sign look bright and with the proper colors very good looking day or night.
The raceway mounted sign offers the same type of channel letters but the letters sit on a fabricated aluminum box that sits out from the building about 5 -7 inches. 
An example of this type of sign is at left. The raceway is painted the color of the building to blend in with the background. The signs generally pull less amps so very cost effective. The sign cans can be customized for logos if required.
The sign can have perforated faces so one color by day and another color by night. For example, the letters on left are black color by day and white at night. Of course the face color can be designed to fit your business need.
