Sec. 17-86. Lighted signs.
(a)
Lighted signs shall be permitted only in commercially zoned districts except as may be permitted by section 17-75
(b)
All lighted signs shall conform to all applicable electrical codes, and installation shall be done only after obtaining an electrical permit. The lighting for all lighted signs shall be controlled and directed in such a manner as not to annoy adjacent property owners, nor impair the vision of passing motorists.
(c)
Lighted signs are expressly prohibited in residentially zoned districts, other than as specifically permitted in subsection 17-79(c).

Sec. 17-87. Height and clearance restrictions.
(a)
Height. No freestanding sign shall project more than 25 feet above the crown of the road the sign is designed to serve, or above the ground on which the sign is erected, whichever is higher.
(b)
Proximity to power lines. No sign shall be placed or constructed within eight feet of a power line, in any direction.
