We were recently contacted by John H. with the Marriott Vacation Club at Cypress Harbour. They called us becuase they had problem. One of their buildings had older single pane glass which was allowing excessive heat into the building and was creating dew point moisture around the perimeter air conditioning vents. The interior surfaces were sustaining substantial damage and the customer needed a solution to address these problems. Since the building has a pool area and a lake located in front of it, another issue was the sun’s reflection on the water that was causing excessive glare. This was causing a great deal of discomfort to resort guests and to the office staff working inside.
When we met with John to go over his options we explained the products in depth and we agreed that one of the best solutions for him would be Huper Optik Energy Saving Window film.
Our crew worked without interrupting daily operations in the primary clubhouse where the front desk is located and guests check in and check out. We performed the work as part of a larger modernization and renovation project completed by Boyer Building Corporation. This project had high glass which was inaccessible from standard ladder equipment so we utilized a single man-lift, staging and safety harnesses to comply with safety standards.
We assisted the engineering group so that they were able to secure substantial energy rebates from Duke Energy after the installation was completed. The newly renovated space is warm and modern and is very inviting for all guests of the Marriott property. The Huper Optik film that we installed has succeeded in blocking 65% of Solar Energy and 70% of the glare as well as an incredible 99.9% of harmful UV rays.
