Reverse Lit Channel Letter sign
Macklowe Properties & SkyHarbour, a construction management company from New York city were contracted to construct new airplane hangars at an empty plot of land next to the Sugar Land airport location. Macklowe Properties hired Dream Signs to develop and install the signages around the hangar location. The new hangar location now hosts several key players in the Houston/Sugar Land, TX Energy sector and this location provides an easy access to company executives to land into a less busy airstrip and take off anytime.
We made an array of signs for Airplane hangars, prominent among which was the reverse lit channel letter sign on their building facing state Hwy 6. During the development of the graphic design for the signages, a suggestion was put forward to address the non-uniform light reflection due to corrugated wall on the building. To provide a clear lighting for the lighted letter halo, we proposed that we would be providing a flat panel, i.e. a pan face, with pre-mounted letters and wiring to would avoid letters being mounted on the building directly. This suggestion provided for minimal drilling and little chance for any exposed holes. We also matched the color of the pan face with the color of the building so backing camouflaged well with the building façade. The customer, Skyharbour was extremely pleased with the end product.
The picture also shows a video taken from the other side of Hwy 6. Both the video and the still image also show the huge 12’x8′ vinyl banner also showing the tenant occupancy. We would like to thank Skyharbour for providing us with this excellent opportunity to demonstrate our capabilities as a sign shop in addition to leaving lasting legacy for our local community.
We can also see a large size banner made of 13 oz vinyl material. The banner is attached to the corrugated metal siding side using Keder brackets that are designed hold a “bullet” that slides on a track. This facilitates easy installation of the banner. The banner also has in addition to the grommets, a tiny metal bracket with some holes that aid stretching.
