Don’t have time for long workouts?
Consider HIIT workout training programs to reach your goal.
HIIT Workouts have been all the rage recently and for good reason. I am Hussey Babrowski, and I’m fortunate to be the head trainer at this TruHit Fitness franchise. I’ll be talking to you about how HIIT workouts benefit us.
Benefits of a HIIT Workout
High intensity training (HIIT) has many benefits. Not only does it help with cardiac output but it also lowers your body fat percentage and increases muscle mass. This is done by a lot of repetition in a longer amount of time.
Burn More Calories In Less Time
With HIIT workouts, you can burn calories much quicker. You would burn the same amount of calories in a 10-minute HIIT workout as you would in 30 minutes of other forms of exercise.
Higher Metabolic Rate
HIIT doesn’t just burn calories during the exercise but afterwards too. HIIT keeps your metabolic rate at a higher level, hours after your workout ends and your body uses up your fat for energy instead of carbs. This is because of the intensity of the workout.
Helps You Lose Fat
HIIT helps you lose fat and reduces the circumference of your waist. This works even if you perform it thrice a week for a mere 20 minutes.
Helps You Gain Muscle
HIIT doesn’t just help you lose fat but also increases muscle mass in some individuals. This increase in muscle mass tends to be in those muscles that are in use the most, usually the legs and trunk.
What We Do in HIIT Workouts and Why It Works
The muscles are able to contract in a lot of different frequencies and qualities, as you have a fixed amount of time for each exercise. Here at TruHit, we prefer to do longer rep times and shorter rest times. This is better for cardiac output as well as shaping those muscles.
Why TruHit for HIIT Workouts
At TruHit, not only do we do these high-intensity movements and programs but we have also incorporated eccentric and isometric training.
With eccentric and isometric training, you get to work on muscle-building. So even though high-intensity workouts are great for your body, it is also important to build those muscles back up to help with immunity support, coordination, and balance, especially as you grow older.
Another factor we have noticed is that, by doing eccentric and isometric training for muscle building, we have a much lower chance of being diagnosed with osteoporosis and osteoarthritis which is more common in females.
A combination of high intensity training coupled with eccentric and isometric training is a perfect balance. High intensity training helps with toning, shaping and cardio as well as some amazing muscle definition while with eccentric and isometric training you gain muscle mass which would protect your body in the future too.
