Leadership Development Training Available Locally
As a business coach and former executive, I have been around many business leaders over the years. This experience has been very educational, as I have been in the presence of some fantastic leaders of very strong companies and also worked with some leaders who weren’t able to effectively lead their teams.
Contrary to popular belief, a great leader doesn’t have to match a certain personality trait or be the loudest person in the room. The greatest trait of a leader is the willingness to lead others, and if someone has the will to lead then other skills can be developed through training and real world practice.
A business coach is in place to help a company achieve its goals, and my role differs based on the needs of my clients. While many services I offer focus on the business itself, I also help key people in the company through skills training on subjects such as time management, strategic planning and leadership.
My leadership development training focuses on honing the skills I have observed in great leaders over the years, and in the sections to follow I will discuss a few key areas we cover in this training. Hopefully this will give you a better idea of how leadership development can help you personally and/or the leaders in your company.
Communication
Learning the nuances of communication can go a long way toward making someone an effective leader. A leader in the corporate world must help their people understand their role in the company, how it impacts the people around them and how it impacts the company as a whole. When a leader can clearly and directly give instructions, the tasks they assign are more likely to get done effectively and on time.
In addition, we cover the ability to be emotionally aware and to listen before communicating. A great communicator is a better listener than speaker, because in many cases the person you are communicating with will tell you what they need to hear, if you just will take the time to listen.
Delegation
If a leader never learns to trust others to do their work, they won’t ever be able to look at the big picture and lead effectively. A leader must understand how to clearly delegate a task and ensure the employee has the skills, equipment and time to complete the task. Delegation is a skill which must be developed, and in our training we discuss systems to help leaders understand how to track the success of delegated tasks and how to know if their team members are equipped to succeed.
Problem Solving
In any industry, a person in a leadership role must be a good problem solver. A leader is the person everyone looks to in a crisis, or when something unexpected happens. We cover how to remain level headed, what to do when evaluating a choice and how to see a situation from multiple angles in order to best equip leaders to solve problems with ease.
