In this article, we are discussing a few of the elements of great-looking and eye-catching custom lobby signs.   Lighting   One element commonly found in great-looking lobby signs is lighting. Whether you light from the front, or light from the back, some type of illumination helps to make sure your sign has pop and is noticed.   For backlit signs, the lighting elements are typically installed within the sign and illuminate from within or project against a back wall.  For backlit signs that project against a wall, typically the sign is installed with standoffs to give some room (also called the throw distance) for the light to project onto the wall or other surface.   For front lit signs, a simple spotlight or ceiling light pointed onto the sign can illuminate the sign and draw attention. It also helps to make reflective materials shine if they are incorporated into the sign.   Materials   Another element to think about is the material choice. The choice of material largely dictates how people feel about your sign when they see it. For example, aluminum or brushed gold dimensional letters tend to have a more sophisticated look and feel than standard acrylic dimensional lettering.   Size   The third factor to consider is the sheer size of the sign. Obviously, a large sign is going to be easier to notice than a small one. But, this can easily be overdone.
