BRANDING A BISTRO IN CHICAGO
Window Graphics that make an Impact!
Recently, we received an inquiry for window graphics. It was for a new restaurant opening in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago called ASCIONE Bistro. They were looking to use their logo to make a huge impact not only with the aesthetics of the logo design but by the material that they wanted to be used. Using different types of material produces different results.
Our customer was looking to have a more contemporary feel to the design but to keep the originality of the logo intact. We talked about multiple materials that we could use to make an impact. The first being vinyl. Although vinyl is a great element to work with, aesthetically using vinyl would distract from the sleek look they were envisioning.
Also, the back of vinyl is black, and it would not accomplish the seamless effect during the dining experience they were looking for their customers. Subsequently speaking with the customer, we decided etched glass film would be the product that could replicate the results he was looking for. We had our graphic designer upload the logo, create the file to plot out the pattern and weed the intricate design. We used Avery Dennison’s Etchmark Etched Glass Film. It worked beautifully. Now for the big day…INSTALLATION!

We headed down to 1500 E 55th St in Chicago in the morning. It’s the new location of ASCIONE Bistro. This installation called for an interior application. It was done to protect the logo from the weather elements as well as protect it from potential outside accidents. The first thing we did was prep the window. Using a scraper, we removed the attached debris from the window, washed it using a mild dish soap and dried it with a microfiber towel. We proceeded to apply the etched glass film onto the window. With the experience of our employee, installation went smoothly and was a success.
We can not wait for the grand opening of ASCIONE Bistro! You won’t be able to miss them, just look for their sign!
