Sales Skills Training Available in Anderson
Every business thrives on sales, and by making sales a priority in your business you can increase profits and allow for maximum company growth. While many people assume salespeople must be loud and commanding, anyone can be a great salesperson with training and the right attitude.
For manufacturers, sales might not be top of mind. While company leadership is likely focused on making a great product, keeping their facility staffed and sourcing raw materials from the right places, they also should ensure their products will have a new home by perfecting the sales process.
As a business coach, I offer many services to my clients depending on their needs. I have worked with companies of all sizes and representing many industries, and almost all of them needed at least some form of sales training to hit their goals and reach their full potential.
In this article, I will discuss a few areas of emphasis in my sales training, specifically for manufacturing companies. Hopefully this gives you a better idea of how I can help increase your company’s revenue.
Prospecting
The sales process starts by finding the ideal clients to pitch your products to. By constantly searching for new clients, you can keep deals in the pipeline and avoid leaner months when no new business is closed. Prospecting doesn’t come naturally for many people, but it boils down to making more calls and constantly trying to expand your book of business. We will discuss how to most effectively call on new clients, what an introductory call should sound like and a schedule to make the most out of the time you spend searching for new clients.
Communication
A salesperson must be a great communicator, and communication from a sales perspective includes a lot of listening. While it might seem counterintuitive to listen to communicate, in the sales arena this is exactly the right tactic. You should be listening to them describe their situation to try to find a need, and then using your product to fill the need. Once you know how you can help them, you can pitch your products as a solution, so active listening is key, followed by clear and concise communication on how you can solve their issue.
Closing
You’ll rarely make any sales if you don’t ask a person to buy your product, but so many people who try their hand at sales don’t even ask the question. In my training, we cover closing techniques and how to ask for the “yes” with confidence. Closing isn’t as scary as it might seem, and once you have offered them a solution to a problem then it’s only natural to offer it to fit their needs. We cover different ways to build your confidence during the sales process, when to close and how to ensure you make the sale.
