Personal Injury Attorney Questions | What compensation am I entitled to in an automobile accident?  Typically, in an automobile accident, the client ordinarily has two claims. The first is a property damage claim for the damages to the vehicle. If the vehicle is repairable, then the client will receive the amount for the repair, damages to any items broken (i.e. computer) in the vehicle, plus loss of use or rental car charges until the vehicle is repaired.  In addition, if the value of the car is worth less because it was in an accident, then even though it has been repaired, my client would be entitled to the diminution in value.  However, this would proof through the use of a certified auto appraiser to demonstrate the loss in value. The other claim is for bodily injury which includes compensation for reasonably incurred medical expenses, future medical expenses, and pain and suffering.
