Local Professionals Discuss Dry Needling

At FIX Medical Group, our team is committed to giving out patients the best chance to make a speedy recovery, free themselves from chronic pain and/or meet their overall health goals. We accomplish this through offering many services and allowing our patients to receive the treatments they need for the best results.

Along with traditional services such as chiropractic care, physical and wellness care, we offer targeted and natural healing methods which can address specific issues and speed up the body’s healing process. One of these methods is known as dry needling.

In this article, our team of professionals will discuss what to expect from dry needling, how our process works at FIX Medical Group, and who dry needling might benefit. We hope if you are considering dry needling as part of your health plan, this will answer questions and help determine if it is a viable option for you.

When we work with any patient, we put their needs first. There is no one size fits all solution in our clinic, and we make it a priority to listen to the needs, goals and passions of our patients. This way, we can create a completely customized health plan which can help them live life to the fullest, without pain. Our clinic also focuses on natural and minimally-invasive methods of healing as opposed to offering surgical intervention and/or turning to medications. Many clients appreciate the opportunity to heal naturally and avoid recovery periods or side effects of more invasive procedures.

If a patient has chronic pain in their neck, back, shoulders or other areas, a common culprit is muscle issues. While many of us have experienced a knot or strain in a muscle before, some people have very serious issues with their muscles and need assistance to live comfortably. If muscle issues are the reason for a patient’s chronic pain, massage therapy, physical therapy and/or chiropractic care might be appropriate. Adding in dry needling to other services can yield great results.

Some patients are nervous when we suggest dry needling, and we totally understand their concern. On the surface, having needles inserted into various parts of the body seems painful and counterproductive, but dry needling is an effective and time-tested method of muscle pain treatment which is successful in many cases.

Dry needling works because these very thin needles are inserted into trigger points, which are areas of muscle which cause them to contract or spasm. When the muscle goes through this change because of the activity at the trigger point, it can ease the tension and immediately relieve a person’s pain.

Because the needles are so thin, there is very little pain associated with the actual procedure itself. While some patients report a strange or slightly painful feeling when the muscle spasms, this pain quickly subsides and in many cases the person feels instant relief from their muscle issue.

If you have muscle pain, you do not have to live with it long term. By using dry needling among other proven methods, our team can help. Give us a call or book your consultation online today to get started.
