What are monument signs? In the sign industry the structures that look like stone, brick or stucco and have tenant panels are called monument signs.
These signs serve a variety of purposes:
- Display the name of the complex
- Display the address
- Display the tenants in the complex or the building
The monument signs can be constructed out of a variety of materials-aluminum, natural stone, brick, concrete, high density foam. The ones constructed out of aluminum can have different textures done and can be painted to match the building colors. Another popular material for monument signs is high density foam. These can have faux brick, concrete or stone look. There are some standard designs available to choose from or they can be custom manufactured. If you are on a budget, a standard design will be your best option.
Once the basic structure for the monument sign is selected. Next comes the text or the tenant panels. The text can be dimensional letters made out of plexiglass or metal(more expensive) and painted custom colors. In most cases the address and the name of the complex are dimensional and the tenant panels are in vinyl. That makes it easier and cheaper to replace the tenant names.
Lighting options
- No illumination
- Internally illuminated- The tenant panels light up at night
- External illumination- Flood lights can be installed next to the monument sign
