And the winner of Skater of the Year for 2020 is none other than…. that is right… it’s the one and only Mason Silva!!
Mason now joins the ranks of legendary skaters such as Tony Hawk, Mark Appleyard, Danny Way, Chris Cole, Daewon Song, Kyle Walker, Jamie Foy, Milton Martinez, Marc Johnson and the list goes on and on and on… Mason has undoubtedly earned his spot on the list of the greats.
How many parts does one have to put out to become Skater of the Year? Well, according to Mason Silva, the magic number is 4. Thats right people.. 4 full parts. In case you have been living under a rock and haven’t had a chance to catch a glimpse at any of these parts, they are not light viewing material. Heavy would be the most appropriate term. It’s one thing to put out 4 parts with your buddies on your YouTube channel, but it’s another thing to have those 4 parts backed by some of the largest companies in the game right now, Real, Nike SB, Huf and Spitfire!! What a list!
Mason has been on the radar and rising the ranks for the last several years. He has been putting out solid footage and steadily increasing his danger levels. He spent this entire year on a hellfire terror ride hucking and throwing himself down anything and everything that no one else wanted to even try and skate. He was determined to sweep the competition for SOTY this year.
To be the greatest among greats is a monumental feat and we congratulate you and we look forward to many more years watch you while we hold our breath until you roll away!
