Milton Martinez is threw his hat into the ring with the debut of his “Demolición” part at the Volcom HQ in Costa Mesa. The response was pretty insane to say the least..
The Bevel group rolled through with free weed, the people at Fat Tire provided the fresh brews, Rhino presented all his mental photos of Milton and NYC’s Slashers and Bay Area’s Big Hongry provided the tunes. Figgy even showed up to give Milton’s part a proper intro, even though he was in the hospital the day before!
With the footage alone from his kick flip into the Sunset Car Wash, which landed him on the cover of Thrasher, Martinez’s new part 
undoubtedly thrust him on the real short list of 2019’s Skater of the Year contenders. There’s no denying that the kick flip into the Sunset Car Wash Bank will go down in history as one of the gnarliest things done this decade. Not only because of the sheer magnitude of the trick, but the back story behind it as well. Anyone else in their right mind would have never even looked at that direction again, but not Milton Martinez! Charged it like it was his first time at the spot and he was fresh as a daisy. Determined and driven.
And for that alone, Milton Martinez deserves this year’s Skater of the Year trophy. Congrats!!
