Mary Jane’s CBD Dispensary | 3 Common Misconceptions About Delta 8 Carts

BY: Your Name, Your Business

The reason Delta-8 carts have gained popularity is that it gives consumers the same effects as smoking cannabis but without the added “weed” taste or smell. Many experiments have proven that CBD, THCV, CBC, CBN, and THC all exist in vapor form when smoked with a vape pen. Vaporizing Delta-8 allows users to quickly feel the psychoactive benefits of Delta-8 without having to inhale any dangerous carcinogens.

Delta-8 is steam distilled from hemp which means it is completely safe for consumption and contains no additives at all. Delta-8 carts are free of any chemicals, pesticides, or herbicides meaning nothing is imparted onto the oil whatsoever except for what you inhale when vaporizing Delta-8.

Did you know that there are three major misconceptions about Delta-8 carts? If you’re like most people, you probably don’t know much about Delta-8 carts other than the fact that they’re pretty popular. In this blog post, we’ll dispel some of the myths about these carts and help you understand what they can do for you. Read on!

Myth 1: Delta-8 Carts Are Illegal

When it comes to common misconceptions about Delta-8 carts, the most common one is that they are made from cannabis and therefore illegal in many countries around the world including the U.S. The truth is, Delta-8 carts do not contain any Delta-9 Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is what makes them legal in US states.

Although currently, Delta-8 is banned in a number of states including Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Kentucky, Idaho, Iowa, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, New York, North Dakota, Rhode Island, Texas, Utah, Vermont, and Washington.

Advocates argue that making Delta-8 carts illegal would be an infringement on personal rights. Delta-8 carts have absolutely no psychoactive properties whatsoever. As such, these cartridges simply cannot get you high. They do however offer great pain relief without actually getting you high.

The common misconception that Delta-8 Carts are illegal is due to their resemblance in appearance to standard e-cigarettes. Since the FDA has not yet regulated any form of an electronic smoking device, they are classifying all devices under this umbrella. This includes vape pens both disposable and rechargeable and e-cigars.

Delta-8 carts were created with one specific purpose in mind – to allow people to smoke indoors without offending non-smokers or having to step outside like traditional smokers. The key difference between Delta-8 carts and an e-cigarette is that there is no smoke involved hence the name “vapor”. The cartridges emit a water vapor mist that does not smell like smoke, leave residue on surfaces, or produce second-hand smoke.

Myth 2: Delta-8 Carts Are Legal Everywhere

The common misconception here is that Delta-8 carts are legal in all metro areas. It’s a common assumption to make given the popularity of the platform and lack of any real information on their legality. The truth though is a little more complicated than that.

In some states you’re allowed to carry your Delta-8 cart while it’s switched off, meaning you can throw your cart in a pocket or bag without issue. In others, though there are specific laws around carrying carts with heat-not-burn technology-enabled while switched on, meaning they need to be carried loosely in an open bag or box.

This applies whether you’re using gel capsules or e juice with Delta-8 carts too – so it’s important that even if you think your state allows vaping doesn’t mean you can take your Delta-8 cart to the cinema.

These are the states where Delta-8 is illegal:

  • Alaska
  • Arizona
  • Arkansas
  • Colorado
  • Delaware
  • Idaho
  • Iowa
  • Louisiana
  • Montana
  • New York
  • North Dakota
  • Rhode Island
  • Vermont
  • Utah

States where Delta-8 falls in a legal gray area:

  • Mississippi
  • Nebraska
  • Kentucky

States where Delta-8 is regulated:

  • Connecticut
  • Michigan
  • Nevada

Myth 3: Delta-8 Is Synthetic

Delta-8 is a common name given to the synthetic form of THC that is created by adding an extra carbon atom to the THC molecule. Delta-8 exists as a liquid or wax and can be consumed using vape cartridges, e-liquids, and other vaping products. Some people mistakenly believe Delta-8 is synthetic because Delta-8 cartridges will often say “lab tested” on their packaging, which is the similar language used for synthetically derived CBD products like Charlotte’s Web.

While Delta-8 does exist in laboratories, it’s not actually created through synthesis at all. Instead, Delta-8 can be produced naturally during ethanol extraction, propane extraction, and butane extraction methods. Delta-8 lab tests are common because cannabis producers want consumers to know their products are clean, safe, and free of contaminants.

These three common misconceptions about Delta-8 carts can be easily debunked. If you have any other questions, call us today and we’ll help clear up confusion or provide a no-cost consultation to explore your options with our team of experts!
