Is It Dangerous To Drink Vape Juice? – San Antonio, Texas – Evans Road Smoke

Many experienced vapors measure e-liquid flavors by sampling a droplet of steam juice. Tasting steam juice in such a low volume is not harmful; maybe uncomfortable, but definitely not dangerous.

In order for vape juice to be harmful to one’s well being, one will have to ingest a significant volume of extremely concentrated nicotine vape juice, i.e. drink it.

If for whatever reason, you’re curious to drop a bottle of steam juice, let this article ruin your thought train right now. It’s not a good idea to do so and it’s never going to be one, whatever the circumstances.

What You’d be Ingesting if You Drink Vape Juice?

Vape juices are normally made up of four main ingredients: vegetable glycerin (VG), propylene glycol (PG), flavoring and nicotine. None of these e-juice ingredients should be eaten directly through the mouth in significant quantities.

Vegetable glycerin, propylene glycol and flavoring concentrates are typically issued as safe for consumption by the FDA and FEMA. However these responsible bodies do not take into account the dumb essence of people seeking to drink a bottle of steam juice; they just deem them healthy for consumption in low concentrations by steaming, not drinking.

Now let’s talk about the most dangerous ingredient in steam juice—nicotine. Even children are well aware of the adverse effects of nicotine.

Nicotine is a toxic alkaloid that is safe to use only in small doses. It is highly addictive and consists of nitrogen derived from several varieties of nightshade plants, specifically tobacco plants.

Today, according to current estimates, a concentrated dose of nicotine between 500 mg and 1000 mg is sufficient to destroy a fully grown adult. To put this in perspective, a bottle of 30 ml with a nicotine intensity of 36 mg will contain a total of 1080 mg of nicotine.

Mind you—Vape juices with a nicotine strength of 36 mg are sold on the market. In another way think about smoking a few cigarettes in a short succession. You’re going to feel a little light-headed and nauseous, right? Now, realize that the condition is just like drinking 1mg to 4mg of nicotine. Can’t imagine what it would feel like to ingest more than 1080 mg of nicotine, can you?

Other side effects of e-liquid consumption

E-liquid, as we know it contains nicotine, too much nicotine will lead to death. Other side effects from overuse can include ulcers in the mouth and blisters. This is compounded by repeated use and a need for nicotine. The full effect of always having e-liquid in the mouth is not yet understood, and only time and studies can tell.

Other symptoms from overuse can also include headaches, nausea, chest pain, heart palpitations, and visual impairment. If any of these symptoms arise, you can avoid using your smoking device and if they continue, seek medical advice or care. When using spray products, care and attention should be paid to all safety details, e-liquid should never be swallowed or placed in the mouth.

If you have these signs, you can try to make any adjustments to the way you are steaming, try using a lower intensity liquid, and take less puffs. It’s normal when you turn from tobacco that you’re not going to put the vape down and still be puffy, this can lead to headaches, ulcers and sores in your mouth.
