We hope this provides some insight into how air conditioning systems work and why we’re the ideal service provider for your needs.
Clogged Condensation Line
As your AC system produces cool air in the summertime, it also produces water in the form of condensation. When the system is working as intended, there is a plastic pipe called a condensation line which removes this excess water from your home. In some instances, this pipe can become clogged with dirt or debris, causing water to back up. Many units will automatically shut off when water builds up in the condensation line, but others will continue to run and eventually leak. If your unit isn’t turning on at all or you notice a leak, the condensation line could be to blame. Luckily we can quickly determine if this is the issue, remove the obstruction and get the system running again.
Freon Leak
Refrigerant, AKA Freon, is a chemical present in AC units which is responsible for the creation of cool air. Freon is essential to the proper operation of an AC unit, and when it leaks out of the system issues can arise. If your unit is running and you feel air coming from the vents, but the air is warm, a freon leak might be the issue. When enough Freon leaks out, the AC condenser can actually begin to produce ice and the unit can freeze over. If you see ice on the unit, turn it off immediately. Once the ice thaws, we can locate the leak, repair it and add new Freon to get it operating correctly again.
Mechanical/Electrical Issues
There are many components of an AC unit which can malfunction, especially in today’s units which are computerized and have many sensors to regulate their output. If your system is making a strange noise, won’t come on at all or isn’t completing cycles, our technicians can diagnose the issue and make repairs quickly in most cases.
