In the sections below, we will discuss a few of the most common issues we see when we are called to repair an AC unit. We hope this provides some insight into what might be going on with your system and why we’re the ideal partner to help get it back up and running.
Unit Won’t Turn On
If your AC unit won’t turn on, there is typically one of two issues at hand. Modern AC units have many sensors and electrical components, so when one of these has an error it’s possible the unit won’t turn on at all, or it might go through strange power cycling. In other cases, there has been a buildup of water in the condensation line and the automatic shutoff has been engaged (if the shutoff isn’t engaged, water leaks can happen). In either case, we can get the issue diagnosed and corrected quickly.
No Cool Air
Sometimes the AC unit might be working, but not producing cold air. If the air coming through your vents is warm, the likely culprit is a lack of refrigerant, also known as Freon, in the system. Freon is what creates cold air to be forced through the ducts, and when there is a freon leak, the system has to work overtime to make enough cool air. Eventually, ice builds up on the coils and no cold air can be produced at all. When this happens, we can diagnose the location of the leak and get it corrected before recharging the unit with new Freon to get it producing cold air again.
Uneven Cooling
Do some of your rooms feel more comfortable than others? If so, there could be a blockage in your ducting system. Cool air should circulate through every room when the system is working properly, but if debris blocks the ducts it can result in uneven cooling. We are duct experts and can assess the entire duct system for any issue, ensuring there is no blockage or air loss potential.
