Signage Education | Vehicle Wrap Facts: Part 1 – Who Should Consider a Wrap?

BY: Your Name, Your Business

Vehicle wraps are some of the most creative and exciting projects we get the chance to work on. But the driver behind most wraps is pretty simple: commerce.  Most of our vehicle wrap clients are businesses with service or delivery vehicles, a sales fleet or “show” vehicle. They are using their vehicles as rolling billboards for their businesses. While driving around town, the brand is prominently displayed. Potential clients can see the brand and logo, the phone number and web address are generally also included along with some visual or graphical display of what the business does.

Not only does the wrap get the word out, but you also benefit from announcing who your clients are. Think about it. How many times have you seen a neighbor or a business you know and trust with a branded vehicle in front and think, “wow, Joe (my dry cleaner, daycare center, client) uses ABC services, they must be pretty good. You benefit from some “guilt by association” in these cases and your customers provide you a silent referral.

Wraps make good business sense. There is a lot of confusing data advertising folks use to talk about how visual impressions work and how many times you have to see or hear something before it will stick. The bottom line is this: your trucks, vans, cars run all over the place everyday and are seen by hundreds of thousands of people in your community. You and your employees park conspicuously at client locations, while at lunch or at other times and plenty of folks drive by and see your wrap. A wrap, unlike a newspaper ad, radio or TV commercial, is on 24/7 and you only pay once. You get the chance to make repeated impressions on your target audience every day without spending any additional advertising dollars.

Let’s face it, the plumbers, electricians and other service contractors figured out what most of us should have known a long time ago. Getting your name on your vehicle, displaying it proudly (yes, that means keeping it clean and not driving crazy), and making repeat impressions is a proven means of attracting new customers and reinforcing your brand presence in the market.
