Oakland, CA | East Bay; Working with a Diverse Array of Clients is Humbling

Hi, I’m Erik Wolfers, I’m founder and managing member of First & Main Financial. We’ve been helping clients with their personal finances since 2001—almost 20 years now. Today, I want to talk a little bit about some of the kinds of clients that we’re asked to work with—which gives us great pride and honor.

For no reason that I can explain, often times we get certain types of clients, one after the other for a few clients in a row—and then it becomes sort of a client category for us. Recently we’ve been asked to work with a few families who have one partner in the relationship who has cancer. Again, I have no idea why people might find us that have certain characteristics, but they do.

We just did a plan recently for someone who really had a cancer scare—and the work that we did for this person was very helpful. They had their eyes opened to some of the patterns in their life and some things that they might want to change and we helped provide a different view or outlook on how the rest of their life might go. The work that we did for them answered questions that they had and helped them consider executing on some lifelong dreams.

We are super proud and fortunate and humbled by the fact that people like that choose us, and that we’re able to do the work for them that we do. We take any kind of client—we don’t restrict by size or type and that’s just the way we prefer to do it—we don’t want to limit our availability to anyone.
