Executive Leadership Training Available in Easton
Executives need to be masters of several skills to be successful, but leadership might be the most important of all. Contrary to popular belief, leaders are not born, but instead leadership is a skill which can be improved over time through practice and training.
As a business coach in the Philadelphia, PA area, I have worked with people and companies representing many industries, from small mom and pop businesses all the way to large corporations. It’s my job to understand the goals of the person or the business and use my experience in the corporate world to help them reach those goals.
In my professional experience, both as an executive myself and as a business coach, I have had the honor of working with company leaders who were fantastic businesspeople and leaders. Through this experience, I have found the people who continually worked to improve their business skills even after reaching great heights were the ones who found the most success.
Executives have likely carved out long and successful careers, but there is always room for improvement in key areas. When I work with executives, I customize a training plan to their needs, but more often than not these plans include some form of leadership training.
Whether you have been leading a company for decades or just moved into an executive role, being an effective leader is a large part of the job. In my experience, I have found a few key skills which can help someone be a great leader, and when I train executives we always try to hone these skills. Below I will discuss each of these skills and explain why they are important to solid leadership.
Communication: A company executive is often the intermediary between a company’s ownership and the people who perform tasks on the ground. Since this is the case, the executive must create a plan for tasks to be completed by their team members to reach ownership’s goals. If someone is a master communicator, they can clearly and efficiently let their team members know what is expected of them. When communication is clear, timely and reliable, people tend to have better job performance and morale.
Delegation: In the same vein, an executive can’t perform all their department’s work on their own, so they must delegate tasks to their team members. Communication is key in delegation, but so is ensuring the team is trained and equipped for success. Knowing how to delegate and still make sure tasks are completed allows the executive to focus on the big picture.
Motivation: If an executive can keep their team motivated and all working toward a common goal, it can help the company tremendously. Motivation can be as simple as ensuring someone understands how their role impacts a project and their team members or as complex as understanding how each person on your team works best and helping them thrive.
These skills can always be improved, and if you want to improve your team’s productivity and your leadership ability then call me or fill out the form on my website today to get started with executive leadership training.
