As a seller, a person tries to make their home appear flawless. Painting the walls, changing the light fixtures, and polishing the wooden floors are the quickest ways to make a house appear presentable. However, as a buyer you shouldn’t fall for those things. If you notice the following signs when you are looking at a house, we would recommend not buying it. Cracks and Holes  It is easy to be fooled by the scent of fresh paint and newly polished floors. These things can be so deceiving that you can actually ignore the cracks and holes present in the exterior walls. These cracks and holes can allow in rainwater, which can result in water damage and mold growth. Furthermore, getting rid of these cracks and the water damage they cause can be extremely expensive and time-consuming. If you notice any tilts and crevices, make sure to leave this house and look for another one.  Water Damage This point is a continuation of the previous one. Most fraudulent parties cover water damaged areas with a fresh coat of paint, which worsens the problem. Painting over damp areas traps the moisture, which further leads to mold and mildew growth. Mold weakens the structure of your home and also jeopardizes your health. Mold can be anywhere, but most commonly, it is found in damp areas such as bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, and the attic. If you notice the slightest signs of water damage in the house you are planning to buy, do not buy it, and look elsewhere.  Bouncy Floors   Whenever you are assessing a house, take a piece of marble with you. Place that piece on the floor in each room to determine if the floor is uneven. It is essential to carry the test in older homes. Deflections are expensive when it comes to fixing them. They require digging up the entire floor. In short, a bouncy and uneven floor shouldn’t be ignored when you are looking for a house.  The Seller Doesn’t Let You See Everything  Oftentimes, there are some areas in a house that the seller doesn’t want you to see, even though the house is completely empty. Consider this as a warning sign and don’t waste any time checking out this slightly suspicious piece of property.  Unnecessary Incentives  When you are purchasing a house, it is your right to inspect it before signing anything. Sometimes, the real estate agent presents you with really charming incentives to waive any inspection from your end. Do not make the mistake of going forth with the buying process if you are offered any such incentive.
