Local business coach offers executive training
Working as a corporate executive can be a stressful but rewarding position. Most people in these roles have a long track record of success in the business world and have worked hard to get to their position, but there is always room for improvement and guidance in meeting personal and professional goals.
Executive training is designed to get the most out of people in positions of power such as CEOs, COOs and other influential people in large companies. Sometimes executive training is ordered by the company, assuming better executives means a better bottom line, and other times it’s the executive themselves which seeks out assistance. In either case, an executive coach is put in place to help the person thrive in their career.
As a business and executive coach in the Philadelphia area, I have worked with companies of all sizes and industries to help organizations and individuals meet their goals. In executive coaching, the focus shifts from the business to an individual in the business and we make a plan to help them become the best version of themselves. Rather than talking about the processes and procedures of the business itself, we focus on the skillset, work/life balance, daily habits and other important aspects of the executive’s life.
In my years in the corporate world, both as a business executive and now as a business coach/consultant/trainer, I have encountered some truly exceptional executives and some very poor ones. This experience has helped me realize what it takes to be a great leader, decision maker and strategist, and have a positive personal life as well.
In my executive training, I work as a coach and peer for executives and put another set of eyes on their daily lives. After examining the way they run their businesses or departments, we discuss their goals and then I use my experience to help them fill in areas where they need assistance or lack essential skills for success.
Humility is not a common trait in the executive world, but the best executives all understand they have gaps in their knowledge base and accept assistance from others when it’s needed.
In my role, I help the executive in whichever areas we deem appropriate. Some examples include training on the basis of leadership and figuring out how to get the most out of their team, training in decision making skills and role playing different scenarios for success or working on skills in their personal lives such as time and priority management or a plan for physical fitness.
There is no one size fits all solution in executive coaching, we make a plan to address each executive’s challenges and present opportunities for growth.
