It was good to hear from the Community Hospice in Modesto recently. They were opening a new Hope Chest thrift store in Turlock and wanted a sign that was solid and functional, and would attract new customers. It needed to be illuminated because the store is open weekdays until 7.00PM.
Check out the photo to see the end product. Illuminated pan channel letters are a very effective way of presenting your store’s name. We took the deep blue color from the Community Hospice and outlined the letters in white for extra effect. Channel lettering adds a 3D effect to a storefront sign, emboldening the message without making it look like a gimmick.
The Hope Chest thrift stores in the North California area raise funds for Community Hospice, which is a non-profit agency. Since 1993, Community Hospice has served families in the local community with terminal nursing care. Many of them are volunteers. They do a fantastic job and we were proud to help.

The Hope Chest letters are made from white acrylic. They have LED diodes inside, and are wired up to the power supply inside the store. Aluminum returns with plastic trim caps ensure that the electrics inside are not exposed to the elements. The blue fill with white outlining was created by overlaying translucent vinyl graphics over the face of each letter. We later installed this lettering ourselves.
Illuminated channel lettering produces a stunning effect like no other sign. Even at night, they are visible to passersby and people in vehicles. Popular with retail outlets, they are proven to substantially increase passing trade. Shoppers are naturally drawn to LED illuminated signs and channel lettering is a great way to promote your brand.
