Lighting technology has changed so much over just the last five years, and the evidence is all around us. More and more we see illuminated signs where there might have previously just been a normal sign without illumination. This is mainly due to the fact that LED lighting, which is replacing just about everything, is far less expensive to run and maintain.
Recently we installed an illuminated LED sign for AgSafe, at their new facility location, in Madison, AL. AgSafe is “a non-profit organization dedicated to providing employers and employees in the agricultural industry with education and resources to prevent injuries, illnesses and fatalities.”
With LED lighting a blatantly better choice in lighting, it’s good to point out the characteristics that make LED lights far superior to their competition:
1. Luminosity – Plain and simple, LED lights are much brighter than halogen, tungsten, you name it.
2. Longevity – LED bulbs last a LOT longer than other types of bulbs. Some bulb manufacturers claim bulb life in the tens of thousands of hours.
3. Cost – LED lights are being manufactured now by so many companies that the cost is being driven down at a rapid rate. Soon they will be the cheapest lighting available.
