The adhesive material helps reinforce the banner material and significantly reduce the chance of tearing around the mounting holes. Banners can also be hemmed, doubling the thickness of the material around the edges where grommets are installed. Banner tape is a double sided adhesive that is a great choice for digitally printed banners. The hem is less visible when banner tape is used when compared to sewn hems that can detract from your full color print, even if the thread closely matches the banner color. Velcro can be used around the banner's perimeter on the back side. Hook Velcro makes attachment to cloth like surfaces very easy. For trade show displays, this type of mounting provides an additional benefit in that a banner can be hung on curved or wavelike surface. Pole Pockets can be added to the top edge of a banner to allow a banner to be hung from a pole. Pole pockets can also be added at the bottom to include a bottom weight, or to present the banner between two parallel horizontal posts or boulevard brackets. A flat nylon webbing can be sewn into the hem to significantly strengthen the banner. The webbing can be extended beyond the width of the banner to facilitate hanging with D-Rings for example. Rope can also be sewn into the hem. This helps avoid sagging and drooping without adding strain to grommets that grip only a small area of the banner.
