Though banners are often used once and disposed, if you plan on reusing a banner, proper care can help keep your banner looking good. This article presents tips to help maintain the appearance and extend the life of your banner. When your banner is displayed, it's best to ensure that the banner is well supported and doesn't sag. Sagging will not only compromise legibility of your message, but may also cause wrinkles and creases. When not in use, your banner will last longer if properly cleaned and stored. Clean your banner with water, mild soap and a sponge or soft cloth. Never use solvents, harsh cleaners or anything abrasive when cleaning as these will damage your banner. Ensure your banner is thoroughly dry before being stored. Do not fold your banner as doing so will cause creases in your banner. Loosely roll up your banner with the printed side facing outward. Once rolled, the printed surface can be protected by wrapping the banner in butcher paper. Store your banner in a cool, dry place. When storing or in transport, avoid sunlight, heating vents and any prolonged exposure to heat. If your banner should become creased, you can remove or reduce the appearance of creases by following these steps:

• Place the banner on a flat surface
• Clean the banner as described above.
• Place a damp cloth over the creased area and apply heat from a clothes iron set to "Cotton".
• Keep the iron moving over and around the creased area.
• Be sure NOT to allow the iron to come in direct contact with the banner - iron only through the damp cloth. This will create steam that will relax the banner material.
• Alternatively, you can lay the banner out in direct sunlight on a warm day.

We recommend that you test any of the above methods on an inconspicuous area of the banner before applying to the entire banner. Use caution and be mindful of any cut vinyl adhesive or banner tapes.
