Local Corporate Expert Helps Executives Thrive

Executive coaching is a popular tool for businesses and individuals which is used to help people in corporate positions of power thrive. An executive coach focuses on the person in the role rather than the company they work for, and strives to help them perform at a high level through skills training, helping to form positive habits and being a confidant who has been in their position before.

I am a business and executive coach based in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area, and during my years in the corporate world both as an executive myself and now as a coach, I have earned a unique perspective on how to help people in leadership roles thrive. If you are a corporate executive, chances are you have worked hard to reach your position today. The best executives understand the commitment to continual improvement, and executive coaching can help you continue to grow personally and professionally.

Each client I work with has different responsibilities, struggles, goals and personal lives, so my plans are tailor made to fit their needs. While there are skills I can offer for people in almost any scenario, I have found there are a few main areas which each executive can benefit from. In this article, I will go over these key points we cover in every coaching session I perform and hopefully give you a better idea on how coaching works and if it’s right for you.

Leadership Training

If you are a corporate executive, you likely have a large team working under you in some form or capacity. Executives are in the unique position of knowing ownership’s goals, strategizing a way to meet them and then overseeing others to carry out this strategy. Executives must be able to communicate, delegate and motivate effectively in order for their teams to perform at a high level, so leadership training is a must as part of executive coaching.

Time Management Skills

People in leadership roles are often bombarded with their daily responsibilities plus the added stress of overseeing others and ensuring the entire operation runs smoothly. And all this is before their personal/social lives come into play. Time management is essential training for executives and it all starts by identifying their goals, personally and professionally, and determining if the tasks they are undertaking are in pursuit of those goals.

Physical, Mental and Emotional Health

It is my role to ensure an executive thrives in their work life, but in my experience there is no successful work life if your personal life suffers. Part of my coaching involves making a plan for my clients to stay healthy in every facet of their lives. This means prioritizing fitness if it’s important to them, setting time apart for activities they enjoy and can help them relax and more importantly ensuring they are putting effort into their relationships. People who are married to their work don’t often perform at a high level for an extended period of time. It takes a well-rounded individual to truly succeed and I try to help all my clients live a healthy life inside and outside of the office.
