Solve Problems With Proven Business Strategies

Learning how to efficiently address and solve problems as a business owner or an entrepreneur is an invaluable skill you will use throughout your career and guarantees you will maintain a long-lasting one.

Hiring a certified business coach is an excellent investment for significant challenges because we have the professional strategies, tools, and analytical skills to identify the root of business problems and create concrete action plans to solve them.

However, there are changes in behavior and mindset that entrepreneurs can begin learning to tackle problems and maintain functional operations – even while more impactful issues are in the middle of being addressed.

Clarify the Problem

When a problem occurs, it is often the result of complexity – making it difficult to see the root of the issue and how to proceed. The cause of a business problem may be hidden behind many processes, resulting in delays, added costs, and the building up of human and technological mistakes. It’s essential to break the problem down to reach its cause and gain the clarity you need.

Once you have identified the cause of the problem, you need to define it as clearly as possible. I teach my clients a proven method to record it in basic and simple terms for clarity and easy comprehension: this allows you to start brainstorming now that you have identified the real problem.

Then Focus On Solutions

Don’t dwell on the problem beyond identifying it – the most successful people in business maintain focus on creating solutions. Staying solution-oriented keeps you optimistic and inventive: dwelling on it and its consequences for too long will make you pessimistic and feel stuck.

Start Brainstorming

Now that you’ve clarified the problem, you can begin strategizing an approach and acquiring the resources you will need. The ability to creatively approach challenges in any area is a life-long advantage. Write the clearly-defined problem down as a question and then come up with about 20 solutions.

Create Smart Goals to Make Changes

Now you should have all the information you need to take a strategic approach to solve your problem: you’ve clearly defined the problem and come up with several possible solutions. Once you’ve decided on the best solution by assessing your options and resources, you’re ready to create a goal.

Similar to how you identified the problem, you’ll need to clarify your goal and how to achieve it to ensure you get results. I teach my clients the SMART method:

  • Specific – your goal should be clear and concise.
  • Measurable – your goal must be quantifiable and benchmark your progress.
  • Aligned – your goal should be in alignment with your values.
  • Realistic – your goal should be tangible.
  • Timebound – you should have a deadline to reach your goal to maintain accountability and track your progress.
