My business coaching client, John (name disguised), was a technical person working in IT at a large company. He was the go-to guy for anything tech related and was very happy with his career progression. However, his expectations started changing when he was promoted to a management position, and he quickly realized he wasn't prepared for the new challenges. Luckily, John came to me for help, and we started working together to develop a plan for his success. As we worked together, I learned more about John's situation. He had always been the go-to guy in his previous job. He was used to being in charge and having people look up to him. But when he was promoted to a new role, things changed. John wasn't doing well in his new position, and people started to look down on him. It was a tough adjustment for John, but he eventually realized he needed to work hard and prove himself if he wanted to succeed in his new role.

Uncovering the Root of Leadership Gaps

To help my business coaching client, John, I performed a DISC assessment on him and asked him further questions to get to the root of his issues. After completing the evaluation, it was clear John is an enthusiastic learner eager to understand what he wants. However, leadership placed him in a role where he couldn't succeed. As a result, John felt disempowered to do well in his new role. He went from being on top of the world to feeling a lack of confidence.

Building a Plan to Enhance Confidence

I worked with John to create a custom business coaching plan to help him get his confidence back. Together, we identified his goals and developed a strategy for achieving them. It was a powerful process for him; after our work together, he became more of himself. He took the lessons he learned and applied them to his business with great success.
