Recently, we received a call from Wolcott Architecture because they needed help with one of their clients, DaVita Healthcare in Los Angeles, California.
Wolcott is a client that we work with frequently on various projects. They often bring us in when they need specialty graphics installed on walls, doors, floors, windows or other glass surfaces. For DaVita Dialysis Center, they needed us to install custom distraction markers and privacy window films for their new offices.
Go ahead and take a look at the images in this article. They show the offices where some of the privacy window films were to be installed. Many different types of businesses have similar looking offices and conference rooms where there are glass walls or petitions instead of traditional metal stud and sheetrock walls.
One of the advantages to glass walls or petitions is it opens up the workspace and allows for visual contact, often making projects and activities run more efficiently. But one of the obvious downsides is the lack of privacy. So a great compromise between clear windows or walls and traditional walls are glass with privacy window films.
One of the most common types of decorative window films is the etched glass look. Actual etched glass looks nice and creates privacy without totally preventing light from passing through, but can be very expensive (w

hich makes decorative window films such a great alternative). We can install a window film with an etched glass look directly to any glass wall or partition in your offices, and the finished product looks so good that you can’t tell the difference with the naked eye.
When it comes to decorative films, there are a lot of different options to choose from. They come in all kinds of different shapes, patterns, colors and sizes. DaVita selected a few different patterns for different areas in order to create a few different looks that are still all tied together.
To give you an idea of the wide range of different types of decorative films, one type of decorative film is commonly used in churches.

Stained-glass windows can be very expensive, and are often only made by hand, but there is a decorative window film with the stained-glass look that can be applied to regular windows. This is a quick solution that looks great and can save a church a lot of money to be invested elsewhere.
For this project, we had a pretty small time window to get it done. Their opening celebration was quickly approaching so we needed to get it done fast. Which brings up another point: decorative window films are pretty quick and easy to install.
If you have any questions about decorative window films and how they can be used to create privacy in the home or workplace, just give us a call.
