Convention Photographer’s Observation on Chicago’s moniker as the Second City

Chicago has long had the moniker of the “Second City” and although the name was given long before the advent of national trade organizations and national professional associations it also fits the bill when it comes to being the home of these types of associations. The Greater Chicago, IL area has a great concentration of headquarters for national trade organizations and national professional associations that represent the interests of particular professions. In this particular case though Chicago would be second to Washington, DC, which has a great number of national headquarters for these types of national associations. As such there are a number of clients of the conference and convention photographers of Caught in the Moment Photography in and around the greater Chicago Area.

Because the majority of the clients of the conference and convention photographers of Caught in the Moment are national trade organizations or national professional organizations, many of these clients are located in and around the greater Chicago, IL area. Although most of the time these national professional associations choose to hold their annual events whether they are conferences or conventions in different cities around the country, Chicago is in its own right a top tier conference and convention host city which is a top destination for these annual events.
As such if Chicago is the chosen city to host the annual event and the professional event planner responsible for planning and implementing those plans for the conference or convention works for a national organization or a professional association that is based in Chicago then it makes it that much easier to perform walkthroughs or other activities associated with the planning and implementing of annual events for the national association.
