Attached is a picture of a mural that we did at an elementary school in Laguna Niguel, California. First we went out to assess the area where the mural was going to be painted. The area had many coats of paint prior, that needed to be stripped off before we could get started painting. The school wanted the background to be painted to match some tile they had put into another area of the school with the shark in blue. The beginning stages were to get off all the old paint that had been on the metal doors. That took 3 days of sanding & scrapping. Then we painted the background to match the tile, as they asked. All the paint is mixed by eye, not ordered from the paint store. That took 2 days for proper color matching, then came the shark. The whole mural was done without the use of any type of computer. The pattern for the shark was done by hand because they did not have any artwork other than the hand drawn picture someone had done. The areas of the metal doors were 108’’ tall by 333’’ long.
