Monument Sign – Shepard of the Hills Methodist Church – Rancho Santa Margarita, CA
The picture above is of a monument sign in the front entry of one of our customer’s location. Shepard of the Hills Methodist Church is located in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, right next to Lake Forest, Mission Viejo and Laguna Hills. We were contacted by Shepard of the Hills because they wanted to change the name of the pre existing church that was on the monument sign seen in the image above. They wanted to change the name, and they also wanted it to be an affordable solution.
Since the monument itself was already built and in place, we just needed to change the sign out. So we proposed an insert, using cut and applied vinyl. We went with Lexan (polycarbonate) to avoid seams. Unlike acrylic panels, Lexan comes on a large roll and can be cut to as long as is needed without showing seams. Acrylic panels, on the other hand, have seam lines where the panel meet.
Although it’s not that easy to see in the image above because of the shadowing that was happening when this picture was taken, but the background color is eggshell and the graphics are dark brown and light brown. In proper light the panel considerably brightens up the monument and is really an eye catcher.
In this case we didn’t need to create the monument sign but rather just needed to update the existing one, and we were able to save our client a considerable amount of money in doing so.
But we do build monument signs from scratch more typically and can help if you or someone you know needs a monument sign or just about any other type of sign.
