Innovative Systems, maker of software systems for the apparel market, gets a new lobby sign. This lobby sign is quite unusual as we had to match the color of a nearby conference table. We did this be digitally printing a clear film and applying it to the back of 3/8″ clear acrylic. The acrylic for this Laguna Hills lobby sign was given a rounded edge and then flame polished.
The letters are brushed stainless steel. The large letters are 3/8″ thick and the others, including the bar, are 1/4″ thick. This made for some heavy letters! What really set these letters off is that they are cut not by the usual computer-controlled router, but by water jet. Water jet is used in a variety of industrial applications, but fairly new to the sign industry. Water with abrasives are pressure blasted at the material to cut the letters and logo out. The advantage of water jet is that you can acheive very sharp corners and very precise lines as opposed to some of the jagged edges that often come with routed letters.
The entire Laguna Hills lobby sign was then mounted with stainless steel stand offs. Another one of Sign Clemente’s lobby signs!
