The seasonal trade shows are almost upon us; next month major activity begins for some companies with investment into promoting their businesses by attending local and national events. This blog is the first in a short series of clips from my article “Effective Trade Show Planning”, which you can request via email by clicking on the button below.
1. Pick the show that best aligns with your marketing strategy
- A trade show is not a stand alone event, rather it is a contiguous set of initiatives aimed to generate leads and move them down the sales funnel.
2. Plan marketing strategies for pre-show, show and post-show
- Use social media to communicate your intention to your customers and provide compelling reasons for them to visit your booth.
3. Reach out to every visitor to your booth post-show via email or phone
- Prompt follow-up will increase the likelihood to gain new customers and this report will show how to best use social media to develop trusted relationships
4. Analyze which strategies worked and which didn’t
- Meet with your sales and marketing team to review succesess and failures against the goals of the event for future improvement
5. Calculate your ROI on the event once the sale cycle has closed
- Use an on-line analytics tool to measure the effectiveness of the social media campaign, produce a report that includes key statistics and metrics showing ROI and report to your Management team the value of the event with recommendations.
