We were recently asked to wrap a Porsche GTS – the car had been damaged in a race and was being rebuilt. The wrap material and graphics for the racing team had been supplied from Germany; however, the vehicle wrap vinyl in Europe is quite different than it is here in the U.S. The major difference is that the European vinyl does not have any “air release”, which makes for a very time consuming install.
Now, “air release”, invented by 3M, is minute channels inside the material that aid the ejection of air when being installed onto the car. They prevent bubbles appearing from being trapped under the vinyl. Hence, no air pockets remain and an efficient vehicle wrap install is the result.
