Commercial Building Signs
Â
Make the first impression a high-powered one. Your company sign is usually the first impression that you make with potential customers so it needs to be distinctive and memorable. Your exterior or interior company graphic is a permanent advertisement with endless impressions and a perpetual return on investment, so it is always best to err on the side of quality.
Â
Why are signs the size and color they are, and when is it appropriate to pay the extra expense for an illuminated sign? This is a common question asked by many new small business owners and either marketing or operational people responsible for ordering signage. Download our article, The 4 Elements of Effective Signage, to learn more.
Â
Your first step is to decide on channel lettering or dimensional lettering.
Â
Channel letters are very popular for store front signs, commercial signage, monument signs, corporate identity and logos. Channel letters are extruded metal structures with plastic faces and usually have internal LED or Neon illumination. Channel letter signs are typically found in strip shopping malls and retail business storefronts. Lighted signs are chosen to attract clientele at night as well as during the day, the Neon or LED lighting creates high contrast nigh-time visibility and creates a warm inviting image. Choices of illumination are front face, back-lit or halo, dual lit which is a combination of both.
Â
Dimensional letters are good for inside and outside applications and are typically non-illuminated. Dimensional letters are a letter, logo or symbol fabricated in metal or plastic that protrudes from the flat surface of the sign giving it a three-dimensional effect. Dimensional letters and logos can be made to look every bit as good as channel letters, and are chosen for a more cost-effective sign that does not require to be lit at night-time.
